I nearly forgot about this place. Not really, but it was a good excuse, right?
There was so much going on with work, trying to make gifts, and see all the family around the holidays that I thought it best to just step away from the internet. Do any of us really realize just how much time we are wasting if we allow ourselves in the land of the internet? Obviously I did not. I spent way too much time in 2010 looking at what everyone else was doing and learning and what not that I really didn’t accomplish anything. Well, I did have a wonderful daughter and that is a major accomplishment in my book, but you know what I mean. So my one and only goal for 2011 is to just DO. Do more of everything and a lot less of doing nothing.
I hope everyone had a great ending to their year and is ready for whatever this new one brings. I did, of course, manage to squeeze in a few pictures.
I finished the owls for the swap I was in. The week after I sent them I received an email from the host letting me know that she had yet to receive them. I was just a tinsy bit upset as this was technically my first swap of the kind and I didn’t want to be a flake all over the place. Luckily they showed up a few days after that.
Partial disaster called the living room. Woo do I ever need to iron those curtains. The blocks and the wooden horse were both purchased from Little Sapling Toys. Wonderful toys. I’m so glad that I found them right before Christmas.
Then there’s Bella munching down on her blocks. Can you believe she is just over nine months old now? I can’t. Where in the heck did the time go?? I just took a break while blogging to feed her dinner and give her a bath and we found another tooth! She has had both bottom fronts for about two months now. Now one of her top fronts are coming in. My baby is growing up now. I may have to take a few minutes to cry tonight.
We ate a lot of chocolates and sweets over the last few weeks. Which is actually not something I normally do. Yet they were there, in their little bowls, screaming at me to savor them. Quickly.
Neighborhood cat. One of the many pictures I was trying to take while he was jumping and running around.
I made five of these clutches for gifts. The pattern is by noodlehead and its her Gathered Clutch. I haven’t made many bags with zippers in the past, so I was a little nervous making these to actually give away as gifts. It wasn’t that bad actually. By the last one I was feeling pretty confident with my zipper skills.
The best thing I think I have made as a gift yet. These are from Alicia Paulson’s Summerhouse Pillows pattern and they were so easy to whip up. The set was given to Davids mom for her gift and I really hope she liked them. I’m going to have to make myself one or ten sometime soon.
Hope you all are having a wonderful first week of 2011. I’m going to spend a few more days trying to relax then I’m diving right in.

Thank you! I really didn’t like the fabric until after I used it for these pillows.
Hello!!! We have missed you in this space, but you certainly have been making some beautiful things. Happy New Year to you and your lovely family and I feel inspired by your statement to just DO. Yeah, baby. That is a great way to begin this year.
That’s awesome that I was able to inspire you with just a few words, that really means a lot to me. Happy to hear from you too! Not sure if my last email made it to you or not. Either way I hope you’re doing well.
